An outline of the translation services we provide
For a comprehensive list of the translation language pairs that we can offer see the translation languages page. Translation involves many different areas, not simply the translating of documents. Below is a brief summary of some of the various services that we can provide for you.
Standard Translation
Standard translation refers to translating documents of no particular genre, and will have general terms and terminology. Examples are letters, reports, news articles, press releases and any other generic documents that do not fall under the below categories.
Specialised Translation
Specialised translation is when documents containing specific terminology are translated.
Legal Translation
This is the translation of documents of legal nature such as contracts, court rulings, title deeds, articles of association. It is important not to mix this type of translation up with sworn / certified translation, which is described below.
Finances / Economics
This type of translation is required mostly by companies or business people. It involves translating the yearly accounts of financial records of a company. It can also include translation of financial reports in newspapers for example.
Technical / Scientific Translation
This is the translation of any documents containing technical or scientific terminology such as manuals, instructions, specifications, etc.
Software Localisation
This is the act of translating a computer programme.
Website Localisation
Website localisation is the process of modifying a website to make it accessible, usable and culturally suitable to a target audience. Website localisation is a multi-layered process needing both programming expertise and linguistic and cultural knowledge. Our team of in-house I.T. experts work with our translators to ensure seamless localisation in a test environment first, then, following your stamp of approval, applied to your live site. As with all website translation, it is important to translate all page titles, descriptions and alt text as well as the main content on each web page.
Typesetting
Our translators can submit the translation in a wide array of formats, and can maniuplate images, power-point presentations, brochures, and all other types of artwork performing the translation in situ and modifying as per variable lengths of text.
Certified / Sworn Translation
This type of translation is carried out mainly on official documents. Usually beforehand, they need to be notarised (by a Notary Public) and then sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to obtain the Hague Apostille. Once this has been done, our sworn / certified translators will translate the documents and stamp and sign them. Usually the documents that need to be done this way are birth certificates, marriage certificates, wills, qualifications degrees / diplomas / certificates, court documents, letters / documents to be used in court, etc.
